COOK IN THE CAPE – FULL DAY
Tour Code: FW05
This is for those visitors who wish to learn about Cape ingredients and cooking styles, and who wish to participate in the preparation and enjoyment of a great meal.
Begin this Cape cooking experience with a visit to one of Cape Town’s well-known spice traders. The Malay people, exiled to the Cape from Dutch colonies in the East in the 17th and 18th centuries, have contributed richly to the Cape table. Today, Cape cuisine is a fascinating fusion of East and West that combines exotic flavours and unique African produce with the culinary inspiration of old Europe and the New World.
Continue down the Peninsular in search of the rest of your ingredients, stopping at a picturesque fishing harbour on the coast for fresh landed fish sold at a local quayside market.
Begin the preparation of our Cape Seafood Lunch at an exclusive location overlooking the ocean. The meal will be accompanied by local wines, coffee and cheeses – all chosen to complement the fresh catch of the day.
After a late and leisurely lunch, return to the city by way of a scenic trip around the Peninsula.
Entrance Fees for Chapman’s Peak Drive, Cape Point and Penguins. Specially prepared Seafood Lunch, Wines and bottled water.
