FAMILY WITH ANIMALS – FULL DAY
Tour Code: FF04
Depart the city for Simonstown and along the peninsula to Boulders Beach where we spend the morning with the only penguins found in Africa. Climb over the magnificent granite boulders as we look for these endangered birds perched on the rocks. Spend time swimming with the penguins in the protected waters around the boulders. Explore this delightful beach as we search for seals, dolphins and other bird life along the coastline.
Leave the beach and drive along the spectacular coastline and inland to the Spier Wine Estate where we have a picnic lunch on the lawns.
Visit the Cheetah Outreach Centre where we learn about these endangered animals and how important it is to protect them. We have an opportunity to pet these majestic Cheetahs in the company of trained handlers. We also see and learn about the beautiful Anatolian Shepherd dogs that were bred to protect the livestock from these predators and encourage farmers to use them on their land.
Stop at Eagle Encounters, a bird of prey rehabilitation and conservation centre, with a rare opportunity to see some of Africa’s largest raptors at very close quarters. Watch how ancient falconry techniques are used to train these birds to hunt and see the flying demonstrations of these majestic birds.
Return to the city in the afternoon.
Inclusions: Entrance fees for Penguins, Petting the Cheetah’s & Raptors. Picnic lunch & Bottled Water.
