Private Game Lodge Safaris in South Africa
Our Safaris to the Private Games Reserves in South Africa run on a daily basis and can vary from a 1 night stay to as many nights as you wish. We do recommend a minimum of a 2 or 3 night stay. The safaris fit in extremely well with any itinerary to Southern Africa and will be tailored to suit you. There are daily scheduled flights to and from Johannesburg and Cape Town to the Sabi Sands, Timbavati, Manyeleti, Thornybush, Kapama, Greater Kruger and Madikwe Game Reserves.
Below is a typical day on safari to one of the private lodges.
Depart from Johannesburg or Cape Town International Airport. Upon arrival you will be met by a representative of the Game Lodge and transferred either by landrover or light aircraft to the Private Game Lodge of your choice. Upon arrival at the lodge you will be welcomed with a refreshment while your luggage will be taken to your luxury chalet with private en-suite bathrooms. You will have a short tour of the lodge and its amenities before settling into your chalet. Lunch will then be served in the dinning room. After lunch it is siesta time which can be spent sunbathing at the swimming pool, sitting on the game viewing decks or taking a short nap. At 15h30 (winter months) or 16h00 (summer months) you will meet again in the dinning area for tea/coffee/biscuits before setting out for your afternoon/evening game drive in open 4×4 vehicles. Accompanying you will be your ranger and a tracker who will scout the surrounding bush for signs of Africa’s Big 5. When game is spotted your ranger will go off-road if necessary to get you closer to the animal thus making for excellent photography. Leopard are frequently seen on the night drives.
Join a Live Game Drive which will give you an idea of what to expect.
As the sun begins to go down you will stop in the bush for sundowners before setting off once again into the night searching for the nocturnal hunters with a spotlight. This is the time of day when the predators such as lion, leopard and hyena begin to hunt. At approximately 20h30 you will return to the lodge where drinks will be served at the bar and then moving into the open-air Boma for a truly superb dinner which is served to you around a huge glowing log fire. After dinner take your chair and move closer to the fire whilst sipping coffee or liquers and listen to African bushveld stories. Looking up at the Southern skies and listening to the sounds of the African bushveld will leave you awe inspired before retiring to sleep.
This morning you will be woken at the crack of dawn and will meet in the dinning area for tea/coffee/biscuits before setting out once again in search of Africa’s wildlife. You will stop in the bush for a welcome coffee break before continuing with your game drive. At approximately 09h30 you will return to the lodge where you will have time for a shower and freshening up before meeting in the dinning room for a truly well deserved breakfast of huge proportions. For those guests leaving today you will be transferred back to the airport or landing strip in time for your scheduled flight back to Johannesburg or Cape Town whilst those guests staying on may accompany your armed guide on a bushwalk to see and learn about the smaller things in the bush. After the bush walk its lunch time again and the day follows the same procedure as yesterday.
In conjunction with your Private Game Lodge Safari we can also plan and book Cape Town and the Winelands, The Garden Route, KwaZulu Natal, Victoria Falls, The Blue Train and Rovos Rail all part of your African Adventure with us.
NOTE! It is highly advisable to book the Private Game Lodges a year in advance as they are extremely popular.
