About this Safari

On The Ultimate BIG 5 Safari you will visit 3 different Game Reserves in South Africa which all form part of the Greater Kruger National Park, namely: Thornybush Game Reserve, Timbavati Game Reserve and the Sabi Sands Reserve. All 3 Reserves offer a number of Lodges to choose from.

The BIG 5 abound in all 3 Reserves and activities will consist of early morning game drives, walks and afternoon/evening game drives.

The Safari starts and ends in Johannesburg and is fully inclusive of return airfares, transfers, accommodation on a full board basis (all meals, game drives and walks) and Park Fees.

Recommended Add-Ons: Cape Town, The Garden Route, Victoria Falls.

This Safari runs every day of the year and can also be customised to suit your personal preferences.

The Itinerary

Upon arrival at ORT International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa you will be welcomed by Mark and Celeste who will provide you with all your documents and caps.

PLEASE NOTE: The Federal Air shuttle service from ORT to Thornybush departs in the morning so if you arrive later in the day then you will spend your first night at the ORT City Lodge and commence the safari the following morning as per the Itinerary below.

Day 1 – This morning you will depart on your direct flight to the Thornybush Game Reserve for 3 nights.

Thornybush Game Reserve is situated adjacent to the Kruger National Park and is rated as a 5 Star Lodge teeming with the BIG 5.

Day 4 – This morning after your game drive and breakfast you will be transferred by road to the Timbavati Game Reserve for 3 nights.

The Timbavati Game Reserve is part of the Greater Kruger Park and is famous for its White Lions.

Day 7 – This morning after your game drive and breakfast you will be transferred by light aircraft to the Sabi Sands Game Reserve for 3 nights.

The Sabi Sands Game Reserve is world famous for its Big 5 sightings on a daily basis.

Day 10 – This morning after your game drive and breakfast you will be transferred by light aircraft back to Johannesburg.
