3, 4, 5, & 6 days in the Kruger National Park, affords our guests an opportunity to see Africa’s wildlife roaming the plains, in their natural habitat, completely wild and free. We take care of you from the minute we pick you up from your hotel in Johannesburg right up until the moment we drop you off on the last day and bid you farewell.

Unlike many of our competitors, our safaris overnight inside the Kruger National Park. Our Classic Kruger Safaris provides you with enough time spent on safari to see the amazing variety of wildlife that the Kruger National Park has to offer.

One of Africa’s most famous national parks, there are 147 mammal species found in Kruger, more than any other wildlife reserve in Africa! Of these the Big 5 (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant) are of course included.

On this safari we include open vehicle drives and a sunset drive. This safari gives you an amazing African wildlife experience.

We depart from Johannesburg between 06h00 – 08h00 to allow for various collection points. Our route takes us through the wide open spaces of the Highveld, down the escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld area. We stop for lunch en-route (own expense) and reach the Kruger National Park and Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp in the afternoon.

After settling in to our accommodations, you go out on your first game drive which is a SAN PARKS sunset drive. A sunset drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal animals that are more active at night and the Park’s rangers are allowed to return after the normal gate closing times. Note that these drives take place in one of the Kruger Park’s vehicles with a Park’s ranger. This is not a private game drive and there may be other guests on this drive. (Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.)

Dinner is a three course meal, served al fresco at our private camp within Berg-en-Dal. Wine is served with dinner but guests are welcome to bring along additional / alternative drinks which can be purchased at the shop.

We are able to pick you up from Nelspruit if you fly into Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. Pick up times are between 12h30 and 13h30.

Arrange with your consultant if your flight arrives later than the scheduled pick up time. Extra charges will apply for late arrivals.

Please note: Our classic safari makes use of air conditioned, 2 bed en-suite chalets.

Safaris are all about early mornings, getting out there and seeing animals! After an early wake-up call (the time varies according to the seasons and park gate opening times) we have tea or coffee & rusks (dried biscuits to be dunked in your drink!) We then set off on the morning safari which will take approximately 3-4 hours. Your guide has an intimate knowledge of the park, which contributes a great deal towards brilliant sightings!

On returning to Berg-en-Dal, breakfast/brunch will be ready at our camp. You then have time to enjoy a swim, visit the park shop which includes African curios, general food items and drinks, take a walk around the camp, or simply relax at the viewing platform in front of the restaurant. Berg-en-Dal is also a bird watcher’s paradise! Be sure to bring along your binoculars!

After a siesta we set off on the afternoon game drive. We conduct all our game drives in specially adapted 4×4 open game drive vehicles to allow our guests the best possible vantage point.

We share safari stories at the camp fire under the stars after a scrumptious dinner served at our camp.

We offer an optional, full day excursion to visit select attractions along the Panorama Route on all our Kruger Safaris of 3 days or longer. We visit attractions such as the Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, Lisbon Waterfalls and God’s Window. We return to Berg-en-Dal in the evening. This excursion is available free of charge, replaces the morning and afternoon drive and will be coordinated by our staff while you are on safari with us. (Kindly note that this excursion is not available on the first or last day of you Safari due to time constraints)

There is a restaurant at Berg-en-Dal where you can enjoy lunch.

Please note: Our classic safari makes use of air conditioned, 2 bed en-suite chalets.

If you choose to do the panorama route today, you forfeit your morning and afternoon drive in the Kruger Park as there is not enough time to include both activities.

Pretoriuskop or Berg-en-Dal Camps may be used as an alternative due to potential availability issues at Skukuza. You will be informed if this is the case.

The sun rises over our final day in the Park and we have one last chance to find the animals that have eluded us thus far. After breakfast we return to Johannesburg. The drive back takes at least 6 hours and guests are advised to sleep over in Johannesburg on this night.

If you want to fly out of Nelspruit and not travel all the way back to Johannesburg with us, we can drop you off at the airport between 12h30 and 13h30.

For transfers out of these scheduled times, consult with your consultant. Extra charges may apply.

We will stop over in one of the towns on our way back to Johannesburg and afford you the opportunity to enjoy lunch and a cup of coffee.
