Singita Kruger Park

Singita Kruger Park 2017-05-13T16:07:11+00:00

Shortly before the turn of the millennium, Singita Kruger Park was granted the rights to a twenty-year concession in the southeast corner of the Kruger National Park. It was against some of the most dramatic scenery and pristine wilderness that Africa has to offer that Lebombo and Sweni Lodges were envisaged. Developed on the vision ‘to touch the earth lightly’, both lodges were built on stilted decks above the ground, a transient witness to this breathtaking piece of Africa.

High above the confluence of the Sweni and N’wanetsi Rivers, the lofts at Singita Kruger Park mimic the nests and dens of the creatures that reside in the rocky cliff-side. With 180º views that stretch for miles over the plains, towards the Lebombo Range, the sparse suites are quiet and meditative spaces, devoid of excess and unnecessary adornment.

Sweni Lodge is the smallest and most diminutive of the Singita family. Set low on the banks of the Sweni River in the shade of the riverine forest, Sweni shares the quiet spaces of this beautiful African waterway. Decks of dark timber lifted with bright flashes of green, the mood is calm and contemplative. Featuring six exceptional hides scattered among the groves, Sweni is a place that has a lasting effect on the spirit.

The Singita Kruger Park concession is one of the most picturesque and pristine regions in Kruger Park. Rangers here testify that it holds some of the highest concentrations of game they’ve seen on the continent. From the large pride of lion to abundant herds of buffalo and solitary rhino, set against a backdrop of perennial rivers, cliffsides and an incredible diversity of flora.

As you touch down at the private airstrip at Singita Kruger Park, you’ll have a sense of arrival. Not just at one of the world’s most desirable destinations, but to a place that speaks to the soul. Wildest Africa is a place of savage beauty, where discovery extends beyond the senses and directly to oneself. We look forward to welcoming you to Lebombo and Sweni Lodges.

Lebombo Lodge

Poised over one of Africa’s most dramatic landscapes in the Kruger National Park’s glorious south-east, Lebombo Lodge is set against a country that is abundant in water, antelope and big cats, with colours that shift with the changing seasons. Lebombo Lodge was created as a transient witness to the land, constructed of steel, glass and wood in reverence to the African expanse before it.

Walkways snake their way along a ridge dotted with surreal euphorbia that praise the sky, at Singita Lebombo Lodge the lofts clasp like eagles’ nests to the mountainside. Sparsely adorned spaces created of wall-to-wall glass; Lebombo Lodge’s suites are places of interaction with a wilderness that echoes to the soul.

Sweni Lodge

In the dappled shade low on the banks of the Sweni River, Sweni Lodge shares the quiet spaces and secrets of an African waterway. Like Lebombo, Sweni Lodge stands only in temporary appreciation of this magnificent place. With a style that is distinctly African, Singita Sweni unites earthenware pots and ethnic artworks with contemporary pieces, against a dark palette lifted with flashes of lime, avocado and kiwi.

Built on stilts with decks of dark timber, Sweni Lodge is the smallest and most taciturn of the Singita lodges, with six supremely luxurious hides tucked away among the trees.

Singita Kruger Park Game Viewing

The Lebombo Concession adds an exciting new dimension to the Singita wildlife experience. Located in the Kruger National Park’s southeast, on the border with Mozambique, Lebombo represents one of the few remaining unexplored territories of this celebrated wildlife sanctuary. The Lebombo mountain range runs diagonally across the expanse, interlaced by the N’wanetsi and Sweni Rivers. The rangers testify that the area holds the highest densities of game they’ve seen anywhere, including a wealth of Big 5, abundant antelope and birdlife, and an incredible diversity of smaller animals.
