Kings Camp Game Reserve is situated in the northeastern corner of the Timbavati private nature reserve and has been in operation as a game lodge since 1995. Our commitment to our guests is to freely share in the experience in a manner that is both enlightening and relaxing.

Eight generously spacious Colonial Suites and two exquisite Honeymoon Suites are luxuriously equipped with air-conditioning, Victorian ball-and-claw bath, indoor and outdoor double shower, fully stocked mini-bar and private verandah. The honeymoon suites enjoy the privacy of their own pools overlooking the bush. And for the ultimate in safari privacy, Waterbuck Private Camp, with its own game viewing vehicle and game ranger, as well as a personal butler and chef, boasts a four-bedroomed Private Villa.

A thatched viewing deck overlooking the active waterhole, and an open plan lounge and bar are ideal places where you can simply relax and soak up the tranquillity of the African bush. The spacious dining room offers stunning views of the bushveld, while enjoying the sumptuous meals.

Morning and afternoon game drives with knowledgeable rangers in open vehicles. You will be served tea, coffee and biscuits on your morning game drive and drinks and canapés on your afternoon game drive. Your afternoon game drive gets back after dark, which gives you the opportunity to spot our nocturnal animals with a spotlight.

Why not book a Private Safari Vehicle allowing you to set your own pace on your safari. The day is yours… you have your guide and a vehicle at your disposal…

This is the perfect opportunity to really explore the Reserve. You can choose to spend the entire day on a game drive, stopping when and where you want. This is certainly the ultimate for bird spotting and great for avid photographers.

There is No Better Way of Getting Closer to Nature than on Foot

With all the eating and sitting around, why not exert a little energy after breakfast and take a bush walk with your armed ranger…

Game Walks through the bush take place just after breakfast, on request. Your knowledgeable ranger guides you through the the smaller aspects of the bush, as well as the fauna and flora of the Timbavati Nature Reserve. This is the best way of experiencing the “finer” aspects of the bushveld. You will be in awe as you discover animal tracks, dung, insects, trees and birds and how they all come together in an intrinsic ecological web of life.

Please note that for safety reasons, children under 16 years of age are not permitted on the walks.
