Wildlife filmmakers Shannon Wild and Russell MacLaughlin recently joined us for a stay at Lion Sands Game Reserve.
Shannon is an Australian photographer and cinematographer with a love for the African bush. She is currently working on several wildlife documentaries for National Geographic.
Russell is a local South African who has worked on films for National Geographic, Disney Nature and BBC, capturing incredible footage of the world’s most iconic wildlife.
Shannon and Russell spent a few action-packed days on safari, guided by Willie Pienaar.
Here are Shannon’s thoughts on her stay:
“I can definitely say that Lion Sands was the best safari I’ve ever had in South Africa. We have spent a lot of time in a lot of places in South Africa, but the game drives here were so full of activity and interesting behaviour, especially for unique animals that are usually so elusive like leopard and wild dog.”
