Pelican Marks Three Years at Hwanges Big Sam | African Safari with Taga

Mr B, our Hwange Game Water Supply Manager, popped by Big Somavundhla Pan the other day to see what Pelican has been up to, and to celebrate his third anniversary in Hwange.

Pelican gave him this message to share with you all…

Hi Folks,

For the past couple of weeks, Mr B has just been motoring past my home at Big Sam. He would just wave at me, and head off down the road in a cloud of dust. I can only assume that he has been very busy with pumps, engines and maintenance work to get the game water supply on track and ready for the dry season.

Well, guess what? Mr B came to visit me today and about time he did so, too. We had a wonderful chat, and as always he had a story to tell; such a great guy to have as a friend.

On the 22nd April 2018, I marked three years at Big Sam. It has been an incredible journey for me, embraced by Hwange and living a life full of adventure, never knowing what will unfold with the coming of each new day.

To all my fans, I’m sending you some pictures for your appraisal. Hope you enjoy! As you can see, I am in good shape.

All is well with me, and I am on top of the world, out fishing in the winter sun each day. I also have a new friend – his name is Heron and is quite a likeable fellow. We have different opinions on fishing techniques, and it continues to be a subject for debate between the two of us.

A pride of seven lions came sniffing around my home the other morning, which got me a little nervous, so I took to the water where I was safe. After a while, they left and my household could get back to normal.

That’s all for now, my friends, but I will keep you posted about my winter adventures.

Take care, and chin up!

Fondest regards,

Pelican
