Spier Hotel Suites
This spacious downstairs suite is decorated in a chic ink blue and off-white colour palette, featuring an eclectic mix of Xhosa fabrics and Eastern ceramics. The bedroom features top quality linens, while the lounge has comfortable sofas and prized artworks by Louis Stroh and Gacganwa from the Spier Art Collection.
This ground floor suite opens on to the gardens with a private entertainment area. The giant daybed beckons an afternoon doze with a book and a glass of Spier wine.
The design of this upstairs suite puts special emphasis on the beauty of recycled pieces, with unusual furniture made from driftwood found in nature. Curtains with a botanical print – featuring Cape fauna and flora – and stainless steel lamps add modern touches. The suite offers spacious living for business and pleasure, with a lounge, service area, bedroom, bathroom and small balcony.
From the bedroom windows you can gaze out over the fields of our working biodynamic farm. Artworks from the Spier Collection feature the pen and ink etchings of Dikuwele Paul Molete, Z Phetsone, Gabisile Enkosi, Lucas Bambo and Petros.
Suite 603 features a warm saffron colour and a subtle oriental feel, showcasing the influence of Eastern cultures on our society from the time when slaves were brought to South Africa from the East. The room is given a very unique treatment through the snaking mosaics by artist Kim Liebenberg and paintings by Vandla Manyaza.
This ground floor suite opens on to the gardens with a private entertainment area, complete with huge wooden outdoor divans inviting you to relax and enjoy the tranquility of nature.
Suite 604 delights with a sophisticated fusion of old and new. Reflecting Spier’s ethos to recycle, re-use and reinvent, the decor includes recycled furniture and a striking green patchwork sofa. The bedroom features a stunning four-poster bed, decorated with quality linens in duck egg blue paisley patterns. The magnificent sculpture by T Kubai is striking, as are the eye-catching paintings by Diana Hyslop. The craft theme continues in the service area where mirror mosaics add special visual interest.
Located upstairs, you will be treated to picture perfect views of rolling hills, with the Helderberg mountains in the distance.
