Narina Lodge

Perched amongst a canopy of 100 year old trees overlooking the Sabie River the style is that of a luxurious treehouse where the main areas link via raised wooden walkways to the nine private suites. If you are looking for a Lodge which has a closer connection to its landscape yet offers private luxury as defined then Narina has achieved this perfect blend of style and experience

Lion Sands Narina Lodge facilities include:

A river deck overlooking the Sabie River Library Boma Lounge and Bar Boutique

Game sightings at Lion Sands Narina Lodge are exceptional at Narina. In winter, elephant and buffalo are seen daily, with large herds making their way down to the river in a cloud of dust. Lion prides are frequently seen, lazing in the shade of large figs and leopards make an occasional appearance.

Resident wildlife includes bushbuck, nyala, kudu, warthog, baboons and vervet monkeys. Hippos and crocodiles are present in the river, and are often seen on the sandbanks. The large sycamore fig tree in front of the main deck attracts a myriad of birds, including broadbilled rollers, green pigeons, trumpeter hornbills and lilac-breasted rollers. Wood owls are often heard calling at night.

Suite Facilities Each suite has a private viewing deck and heated plunge pool with magnificent views of the Sabie River. The suites are equipped with en-suite bathrooms, a large outdoor shower, mini bar, safe, two air-conditioners, overhead fans, direct dial telephones, satellite television and DVD players. The suites also have hairdryers, international adaptors and insect repellent spray.

The bathrooms are equipped with double basins, a large freestanding bath with a view of the Sabie, a double shower (with a Victorian Rose and a massage spray), a separate toilet with bidet, heated towel rails and for the adventurous, an outdoor shower.

Tinga Lodge

Follow the footsteps of the leopard… We are always surprised at how a visit to Lion Sands can completely restore our energy and allow us to take a breath and relax. When you’re right on the Sabie River, watching the animals, surrounded by bush and sky, you really feel like you’ve escaped from the world. With 5000 hectares/ of wild bush in this private concession within the world-renowned Kruger National Park, you can go exploring off-road and follow the footsteps of the leopard, track down a herd of elephant or simply wait for them to come to you.

Tinga Lodge, with nine private suites, making it a very personal experience. Our Lion Sands staff are often called mind readers, sometimes saints and quite frequently invited to go back home with our guests (an invitation which they politely decline). They make it possible for guests to surrender, with every need taken care of and the guests’ comfort their first priority. Life at Lion Sands has a timeless quality, where you can get lost in a moment, and take the time to really explore this piece of Africa on the banks of the Sabie River. If you want to escape from real life, Lion Sands is where you need to go. Lion Sands is subtle, sophisticated and serene – it’s an escape that everyone should enjoy at least once in their lifetime.

Lion Sands Tinga Lodge: The Lodge style is grand and spacious with a feeling of historical opulence. The main areas are double volume opening out onto breath-taking wooden viewing decks which end a few feet from the Sabie River.

Suite Facilities The suites at Lion Sands Tinga Lodge are well-spaced, and each one is positioned to ensure the best possible view of the Sabie and its surroundings.

Each luxuriously appointed suite (125m2) is air-conditioned, with en-suite bathroom and a double shower. The suites also have a private lounge, heated plunge pool, individual satellite television, DVD player, in-room mini bar and safe, underfloor heating, heated towel rails – in the words of James Stevenson- Hamilton in his book South African Eden, “.all the things tending to mitigate the asperities of life!”

In the heat of the day, there is no better way to while away the time than relaxing in the privacy of the deck, or taking a dip in the plunge pool, whilst watching the daily parade of game coming down to the river in front of Lion Sands Tinga Lodge.

The bathrooms are designed to enhance your intimate Kruger Safari. The bath and double shower have large windows allowing unobstructed viewing of the Sabie River, whilst still retaining privacy. The double shower has a Victorian shower rose and a massage spray. There are double basins, heated towel rails, as well as a separate toilet and bidet.
