The Outpost in the Kruger Park

The Outpost – Situated between the Limpopo and the Luvuvhu Rivers in the northern sector of Kruger National Park lies the Makuleke Contractual Park (formerly known as The Pafuri) an area spanning some 26,500 hectares. Sharing a border with Zimbabwe and Mozambique, this Park is the ancestral home of the Makuleke people and is arguably the most diverse and scenically attractive area in all of Kruger National Park.
Although remote, this Luxury Safari Lodge is well worth a visit and certainly will not disappoint!
This spectacular Lodge, was built in 2000 using simple, clean lines combined with elements of steel and concrete. The unashamedly contemporary design of The Outpost emphasizes its beautiful surrounds but blends and preserves the wilderness that is its home.
The Lodge accommodates 24 guests in 12 stand-alone open plan en-suite Luxury Spaces resting on a hill overlooking the Luvuvhu River. The Spaces are connected to each other and the central Lodge area by a 500m Zimbabwean teak walkway.
These contemporary Luxury Spaces have been cleverly designed, making full use of space, concrete and steel with state-of the art retractable screens offering 180-degrees of uninterrupted views of the Luvuvhu River Valley.
The open feel of the room extends into a comfortable lounge and an award-winning bathroom (which can be screened off for privacy) with a stone bath and open shower boasting views extending as far as Mozambique.
The outdoor terrace with daybed offers full views of the surrounding bushveld, and is the perfect spot to while away the time soaking in this natural wonder.
EXCLUSIVE HONEYMOON SUITE
The Honeymoon Suite, rests high above the camp offering uninterrupted 270° views as far as the eye can see. The intoxicating beauty and freedom of the vast wilderness flows into the Suite where you feel at one with nature even whilst sleeping in your comfy king-size bed.
FOOD & WINE
Bush Cuisine under African Skies
The Outpost offers a variety of places to dine. Breakfast and lunch is served under cover in the dining area in the main building with views of the Luvuvhu River Valley. Lunch may be served as a picnic out on safari, under Baobabs or on the river banks. Dinner is enjoyed either in the enclosed courtyard under the stars or on the deck next to the pool.
Despite its remote location, The Outpost strives to provide excellent cuisine. Our style of food draws from its African surroundings and care is taken to source the best produce.
The large wine cellar, filled with outstanding South African wines, including some amazing Sauvignon Blanc produced by the Lodge owner, is separated from the main dining area by a glass partition.
FACILITIES & SERVICES
