Zebra Plains Camp in the South Luangwa NP
Zebra Plains Camp is a luxury walking safari camp with just four traditional tents, two twins and two doubles. The camp accommodates a maximum of six guests, allowing for an intimate exploration of the park.
At Zebra Plains Camp power is supplied by solar power for 12 volt lights in the rooms and main area and Invertor with a 220 volt supply for charging camera batteries.
Tents: Each tent features real beds, campaign furniture, mosquito nets and luggage rack.
En suite facilities: All tents have abathroom with wash basin with running water (hot water will be provided on request) and flush toilets. Water for al fresco showers is mixed to preferred temperature by tent attendant.
Main area: Offers a library, barcounter and dining area.
Walking Safaris: The terrain around camp is ideal for exploring with plenty of shade and long sweeping views. Garth Hovell, a well-respected safari guide with almost twenty years of experience, will lead walks twice a day. Guests will also be accompanied by a tea bearer and armed ZAWA scout. One morning you might wander along a river bank, observing elephants before canoeing across to an island across from camp to get up close to plains game.
Later that day you may choose to explore nearby Zebra Plains Camp where zebra, buffalo and eland gather in large herds on the open savannah, a rarity in the wooded terrain. Your next stop might be the Changwa Channel, home to one of the highest hippo concentrations on earth.
