Jaci’s Safari Lodge in the Madikwe Game Reserve

Jaci’s Safari Lodge masterfully blends into its surroundings, encompassing a magnificent main area built around an ancient termite mound. The location was discovered and the concept envisaged by Jan in combination with Jaci’s colorful decorating style and attention to detail you are sure of a memorable and unique Safari experience.
Jaci’s Safari Lodge – Featuring only eight large rooms and the exclusive 2 bed-roomed “Nare Suite” – all built with shaggy thatched roofs, canvas walls and large tented windows – to create a true safari atmosphere, inviting you to enjoy your bush surroundings. Early risers may catch a glimpse of Bush Babies returning to roost in the trees around the rooms or enjoy the morning Francolin calls.
The generous Main Lodge consists of a spacious lounge and open plan dining area with uninterrupted views of the bush. Enjoy fire cooked meals in our enclosed boma, or under the stars at a bush braai.
Lounge at the pool or enjoy bird watching from the hammock on the bank of the Groot Marico River Indulge yourself in your surroundings.
Accommodation – Nare Suite
This exciting addition to Jaci’s Safari Lodge is an exclusive “bush retreat”- so named because of the resident Buffalo Bull who frequents the waterhole in front of the Suite (along with the numerous other animal visitors) – accommodates a maximum of 4 guests, is the latest addition to Jaci’s.
The Nare Suite has a self contained kitchen (for our chefs to prepare meals for you in the luxury of your own retreat), lounge and outdoor dining area.

Jaci’s Safari Lodge in the Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa Tailormade for your African Safari by Taga Safaris Africa. has eight thatched rooms, each with a charming built in, en-suite hand-made rock bath with an outdoor “safari” shower, and fans to keep a gentle breeze flowing. Six of the rooms have twin beds and the seventh and eighth room have king size four-poster beds.Each room has a hand made ceramic fireplace surrounded by a stone chimney.The deck in front of the room allows you to sit and enjoy the surrounding sights and smells of the bushveld – whilst watching the animals walking past to drink.
The walls in the bathroom are built using natural rock and the bath was constructed on site. In order to create a “tented feel” the rooms have canvas sides.
Children sharing with their parents at Jaci’s Safari Lodge are comfortably accommodated on camping stretchers in the rooms. Maximum 3 children per room.
Facilities
The Lodge is situated at an ideal spot overlooking an established and well used water hole, under a grove of Tamboti trees, on the edge of the Marico River.
The main complex is different, open plan, curved around a huge anthill, under shady trees overlooking the water hole and on the banks of the Marico River.Meals come from an ultra modern kitchen, spotless, in full view of the dining area. Dinners are eaten outside around the open fire in the boma under the stars, or out in the bush on a “braai”, surrounded by nature.
Upstairs there is a quiet reading space. There is also a well-stocked ethnic craft shop. Jaci’s Safari Lodge now has a fully equipped gym situated between Jaci’s Safari Lodge and Jaci’s Tree lodge as well as a kiddies play area, overlooking the river.
There are only eight double rooms and the exclusive Nare Suite in this “must see”, malaria free destination. Each one faces out over a dry river-bed which acts as a walkway for game on its way to and from the water hole. They each have a “tented” interior, walls of local stone and a cool thatch roof, for giving that special African bush feeling. A charming built in, en-suite hand-made rock bath with an outdoor “safari” shower, and fans to keep a gentle breeze flowing.
Between the early morning and evening game drives and walks, there is a cool swimming pool overlooking the river.
