Tuningi Safari Lodge in the Madikwe Game Reserve

Tuningi Safari Lodge is a stunning game lodge set in a valley in western section of Madikwe. It accommodates 16 people in double volume, free standing thatched rooms that all have their own private decks as well as beautiful interiors.

Tuningi Safari Lodge stands apart from most other five star game lodges in that children of all ages are accepted and there are two family suites in which parents and their children can be accommodated in their own rooms but are all under one roof with an enormous living area and deck too.

There is also the option of Children’s game drives. Tuningi offers all the sumptuousness of a five star lodge as well as a warm and relaxed atmosphere, delicious food and fabulous game drives.

Accommodation

Tuningi Safari Lodge can accommodate 16 people for an awesome bush experience which is impossible to replicate in larger concerns. The lodge can be booked for exclusive use for sixteen guests or alternatively Little Tuningi will offer exclusivity to a smaller group with a maximum of six guests.

The lodge offers some of the best views in Madikwe as well as the feeling of tranquility given by the surrounding trees under which the main building, two family units and 4 luxury bush villas nestle, an intimate homely setting offering complete privacy.

All bush villas have air-conditioning, ceiling fans, gas fireplaces, en-suite bathrooms, outdoor rock showers and private wrap around wooden decks.

Activities

Morning and afternoon/evening game-drives in open game-viewing vehicles, bush sundowners and drink stops in the Reserve, visits to hides.

Regrettably, due to safety concerns, children under 6 years of age are unable to participate in game-drives at Tuningi Safari Lodge (shorter kiddies game drives can be arrange after breakfast).

Wildlife

Game-rich country with Big Five (black & white rhino, elephant, lion, buffalo and leopard) cheetah, wild dog, kudu, springbok, eland, red hartebeest, giraffe and impala, A paradise for bird watchers.
