Situated in the Malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve, Royal Madikwe Safari Lodge isjust a 1 hour flight or 4 ½ hour drive from Johannesburg International Airport, this is the ideal safari destination teeming with encounters of Southern Africa’s famous Big Five as well as the endangered Wild dogs and Cheetah!
Children of all ages are welcome at Royal Madikwe where they can play and learn about their natural surroundings in a safe environment with an exciting kiddies program while parents relax by the poolside, or join in on the fun!

Royal Madikwe Luxury Safari Lodge also offers the option of exclusive use of the whole lodge, providing a more personal and intimate experience ideal for small groups or families which is available on request.
THE ROYAL VILLA
This spacious villa provides the perfect sanctuary for families and can accommodate up to four guests in 2 bedrooms featuring the following;

THE LUXURY SUITE (double)
These two romantic suites are an ideal haven for couples celebrating an anniversary, enjoying their honeymoon or simply on a romantic retreat. Features include the following;

THE LUXURY SUITE (Twin)
The twin suite is perfect for friends or older children and an additional luxury bed can be added if required. Features include the following;

THE CLUBHOUSE FAMILY SUITE
This standard family suite accommodates 2 adults and 4 young children in adjacent rooms and is located on the second level of the Main Clubhouse area. It is ideal for parents with young children or for private staff including nannies/butlers/pilots. Features include the following;
- Standard Double Suite draped in a luxurious mosquito net
- En-suite with bath and rain shower
- Mini Bar plus tea & coffee making facilities
- Complimentary Wi-Fi and air conditioning
- The children’s room features four small kiddies beds draped in luxurious mosquito nets
- En-suite bathroom featuring a rain shower
- Play area with Toy boxes and games
It is important to note that this suite does not have a private viewing deck and plunge pool, but these features are available at the main Clubhouse area.
GAME DRIVES
Daily dawn and dusk game drives are recommended to ensure that you get the most out of your safari experience’s. The Big Five, (Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino, Lion and Leopard) are all present in Madikwe Game Reserve, as well as many species of birds, antelope and other mammals; including the endangered African Wild Dogs and Cheetah. Although we cannot guarantee sightings of specific animals, our experienced guides go out of their way to find the most special sightings for you to ensure you have an incredible safari experience!
Children under the age of 5 years are not allowed on scheduled Game Drives. Kiddies bumbles may be arranged and depend on availability at the time of arrival. These regulations are put in place to ensure your safety as this is our first priority given the dangerous nature of our environment.
BUSH WALKS
We invite you to enjoy the thrill and adventure of a bush walk with our highly qualified and experienced guides. Following in the footsteps of the animals allows you the opportunity to learn more about the smaller creatures as well as the flora that make up this unique wildlife reserve in Southern Africa.
Children under the age of 16 years may not partake in bush walks due to safety reasons and adults over the age of 60 years require a medical fitness certificate in order to participate. These regulations are put in place to ensure your safety as this is our first priority given the nature of our environment.
ZULU DANCING
The warrior tribe, as the Zulu’s are known, were mighty and fierce in their battles on the plains of Africa, using their dramatic tribal dance as a means to instill fear in the hearts of their enemies! Unlike the warrior men in the tribe, the Zulu women danced to show joy and love and when men and women came together they told a beautiful story….
Experience this incredible display of power and passion as you share their journey through a colourful cultural dance!

Witness the awe inspiring constellations and clusters that form part of our solar system through the crisp lens of a GPRS Telescope that enhances what your eyes only hope to capture.
A wonderful story unfolds as you learn about the history and evolutionary formulation of these stellar phenomenon’s…Best viewing from February to late August, but this is available throughout the year if desired.
