End off the tour with one of Africa’s most awe-inspiring attractions, the mighty Victoria Falls and discover the true majesty of the Zambezi River onboard a traditional East African dhow.
Day 1 & 2
Matobo National Park, Zimbabwe
OVERNIGHT: CAMP AMALINDA
Start your journey with a relaxing day acclimatising to your new surroundings at your leisure. The next morning is an early start to experience a sublimely serene sunrise at the “World’s View” lookout point in Matobo National Park, and you will quickly understand why it’s the spot that Cecil John Rhodes chose as his final resting place. Remember your walking shoes as you’ll be tracking endangered rhino on foot deep in the bush, staying at a close following distance and feeling deeply connected to these threatened creatures.
Day 3 & 4
Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe
OVERNIGHT: ELEPHANT’S EYE, HWANGE
Discover the deep and meaningful passion that our professional guides share for the Hwange bush during a guided walk where they will share the finer details and inner workings of this ancient eco-system that can often be missed whilst on a game vehicle. Then enjoy the wide ranging exploration afforded by a game drive deep into the heart of Hwange National Park, and sit down to a delicious picnic lunch served overlooking a waterhole. Sundowner drinks are waiting for you upon your return to the lodge where you can reminisce about the day’s top sightings and most captivating discoveries.
Day 5
Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe
OVERNIGHT: ELEPHANT’S EYE, HWANGE
Witness the passion of the staff at the Painted Dog Conservation Centre as they fight to combat the plight of the Painted Dog (African Wild Dog). A visit to this remarkable sanctuary will engage and enlighten you as your learn about the unique pack behaviour of these often misunderstood animals that are sadly under threat. You may even see the courageous efforts of the staff in action caring for Painted Dogs if there are any in rehabilitation at the centre during your visit. Then spend your afternoon at your leisure, soaking in the beauty of the surrounding bush, revelling in the calls of the wild and sharing stories around the campfire as the stars move silently across the sky.
Day 6 & 7
Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
OVERNIGHT: VICTORIA FALLS RIVER LODGE
Bid adieu to Zimbabwe by paying a visit to its most popular attraction, the mighty Victoria Falls whose towering and roaring mist is world famous. Savour your last evening on an intimate voyage sailing along the ever-impressive Zambezi River aboard a traditional East African dhow as your skipper entertains you with legends of the River.
